the 17th Annual Mermaid Tears Sea Glass Festival:

Join us this year on July 25th - July 26th for a weekend of nautical beauty and community spirit! Celebrate the art, history and wonder of sea glass and our Atlantic shores.
Featuring a Vendors Market on Saturday July 25th, filled with beautiful hand-crafted goods, hands on workshops, demonstrations and displays.
We are happy to welcome East Coast Art Party again this year for another afternoon of painting on Sunday July 26th.
We’ve even invited a mystical mermaid ashore to share her love of the sea. She delights in taking photos with all of our visitors from near and far and hearing stories from the land above the sea and beneath the sky.
We are excited to be hosting in coordination with Souris Regatta. They are busy making big plans for the festival. Stay tuned for details. We will be posting updates as soon as they become available.

People’s Choice - TBD Enter 3 pieces for $5 (NO LIMIT on pieces entered….every 3 pieces $5)
You must pay $5 admission fee to the festival.
Criteria to consider when entering a shard; Color rarity, roundness and frosted surface bubbles, test or patterns. Any other identifiable age or pontil scars.
Best Shard Contest
ENTRY PROCESS: Shards will be accepted from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday in the Shards Tent - with judging starting at 3:00pm sharp. Entry forms are filled out by contestants and given to an attendant who will place them on a table. The shards will be attached to entry form using glue dots. Contestants must enter their shard in person and are responsible for picking up their entries after the contest.
JUDGING: Judging begins at 3:00pm on Saturday and prizes will be awarded as close to 5:00pm as possible. Contestants should not speak to judges during the judging process.
RETURN PROCESS: Prize cheque will be awarded at the event and winners are asked to remain for photos. We will do everything to expedite the return process. To ensure that everyone receives their own shard, proper I.D. will be required.
PLEASE NOTE: Vendors and committee members CANNOT enter into the shard contest. **The grand prize shard will not be eligible for entry the following year.
IN THE UNFORTUNATE EVENT THAT A SHARD IS LOST OR STOLEN, SOURIS HARBOUR AUTHORITY OR “MERMAID TEARS” SEA GLASS FESTIVAL/COMMITTEE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.

Each registered vendor may enter their most magnificent shard or beach find for only $5 with the chance to win a free table for next year’s Mermaid Tears Seaglass Festival. (Value of $150).
Only one entry per vendor table.
Judging will begin at 3pm sharp. The seaglass visitors will be casting their votes as to which is truly the best piece. Only 1 entry per vendor. BEST OF LUCK VENDORS!!
There will not be an ATM machine on site
CIBC & Credit Union are within a short driving distance
